Malifaux Demo Night – Thurs 22nd March

Anybody fancy trying a miniatures game with more than a few differences?
A game that uses cards instead of dice?
A game that isn’t set in the far future or distant past?
A game without Elves or Dwarves? :o
A game that does include Cowboys, Zombies, Living Nightmares and Mad scientists
A game with a low start up cost? :D

On Thursday 22nd March 2012 Mitch (Stern on the Mailfaux forums) will be hosting a Malifaux demo night at Derby Wargames Society for anybody who fancies trying out the game ‘Malifaux’ or simply wants to see what all the crazy miniatures are for.

It looks like it’s going to be a great night which should see visitors popping over from Burton as well as the demoes being run by a very experienced Malifaux player in the form of Mitch (Stern on the Malifaux forums).

You can find out more about Malifaux at the main website http://www.malifaux.com here’s a bit of a taste of what to expect:

Based in an alternate Earth, Malifaux uses gothic, steampunk, Victorian horror with a dose of the wild west to inject fun and depth into the magical lawlessness of a world rife with monsters, necropunks, man-machine hybrids, gunslingers, and power-hungry politicos. Actively using character-driven stories to define the world of Malifaux, seek your fortune in this fast-paced and brutal 32mm tabletop miniature skirmish game. Assemble your crew and stake your claim!

Spirit Games supporting Derby Wargames Society

Those lovely people at Spirit Games in Burton on Trent have kindly agreed to support Derby Wargames Society, here’s what Phil from Spirit had to say:

“As a club member can now ask for and get a 10% volume discount off anything at Spirit Games regardless of how much you buy. This applies to everything except for Magic;the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh”

Phil also mentioned that Spirit Games would like to be kept informed of what’s being played when, so that they can help to send new players our way, so give them a call with any new plans as well as putting them on the club forum.

So if you’re a member of Derby Wargames Society and fancy getting an extra discount when buying your next batch of new shiny toys be sure to drop over at Spirit Games!
